Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has issued an urgent warning as coronavirus cases climb in the county.
"We're at a point now, today, similar to what we said months ago, you should assume that either you or someone very close to you has contracted COVID-19," Molinaro said.
At last check, there are over 8,300 confirmed cases across the county, with 1,094 of those being active.
Officials say the surge in cases is complicating contact tracing and delaying notifications.
News 12 is told the county is expected to be named a micro-cluster color designation in the coming days.
