Dutchess County Sheriff: 2 men arrested in connection to phone scam

The two suspects both face charges including attempted grand larceny and conspiracy.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office has arrested two men from New Jersey in connection to a phone scam.
Police say Vivek Shingarakhia, 24, and Kishan Gajera, 31, were arrested for a scam that happened on June 18. The say they received a call about a phone scam by someone posing as law enforcement from the treasury department.
The scammer told the victim they'd be arrested on drug trafficking charges unless they paid $27,000.
Shingarakhia and Gajera both face charges including attempted grand larceny and conspiracy.
