The first half of Saturday is a mostly OK, sunny and humid day. Showers and storms amp up for afternoon and into the evening. These storms have the right ingredients to be powerful and dangerous and will develop suddenly. Rain could start after lunchtime with scattered storms moving through from 2 p.m. to around sunset.
Some of these storms could produce gusty, damaging winds, as well as isolated flash flooding, lightning, hail - and a lone tornado cannot be ruled out. The main concern is the gusts, between 40-60 mph, which could cause power outages and downed trees. Rainfall rates could be heavy at times, with downpours that could produce flooding. There could be areas who see 1-2 inches or more of rain by the time everything wraps up Sunday afternoon. Showers will continue overnight and into the first half of Sunday.
Temperatures continue in a summery area for Saturday, with highs in the middle 80s. After the storms pass through, there will be a noticeable temperature change for Sunday, with highs only reaching the lower 70s. The return to fall like weather continues into the work and school week and the 70s sticks with us for the majority of the next week. Main rain chances happen over the weekend, with some low chances returning midweek.
