A Mount Vernon mother was arraigned in Yonkers Thursday, accused of driving under the influence of drugs with her young daughter in the car.
Police say they noticed 37-year-old Donna DiPasquale driving on the wrong side of the road Wednesday at a safety check point on the Saw Mill River Parkway. According to police, DiPasquale took off when they tried to question her. They say she led them on a three-mile chase until traffic conditions forced her to stop.
Police say they could see DiPasquale was impaired and that her 5-year-old daughter in the back seat was very frightened. Investigators say DiPasquale claims she goes to a methadone clinic daily for treatment of substance abuse. Police say lab results on DiPasquale will take two weeks. She is facing DWI, child endangerment and fleeing police charges.
