Drivers who were battling ice and sleet to head to their Thanksgiving destinations earlier this week, enjoyed the snow-free and dry highways as they returned Sunday.
The roads were even more crowded this holiday weekend because of lower-than-usual gas prices.
"It really helped," said one traveler. "I spend $50 usually and this time it was $35 so it's a really big difference."
The roads were also crowded because many college students were heading back to school.
