A driver and his passenger are lucky to be alive Tuesday after a tree came crashing through his windshield on I-684 in Purchase.

Dante Turner was transporting glass in his van at around 9 a.m. when the tree fell. Turner says he didn?t want to swerve to avoid the tree because he was afraid he would hit other cars on the road. Both Turner and his passenger walked away with no injuries.

Officials believe the rain-soaked ground caused the tree to give way.
