A boat with seven people on board overturned in the Long Island Sound this weekend prompting a dramatic water rescue by first responders.
The NYPD's Aviation Air Sea Rescue responded to the overturned boat around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday near the Execution Rocks Lighthouse that's between New Rochelle and Great Neck in Nassau County.
Police divers had to rescue a woman who was trapped in an air pocket beneath the hull of the overturned boat.
They were able to give her a breathing device, get her out of the boat, and onto dry land.
The woman and the other six people who were on the boat are expected to be OK.
