People across the tri-state are starting to leave their houses more and more.
News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen was joined by Dr. Adam Berman, the associate chair of emergency medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, to discuss how you can safely leave your home and return to stores, restaurants and the office.
At least 19 states have seen new coronavirus cases go up in the last two weeks, with six states having reported record-breaking increases.
That includes nearly 2,400 new cases in Arizona, more than 2,600 in Texas, and nearly 2,800 in Florida.
Some people are questioning if this is the start of a second wave, but we're still really in the first wave of this infection.
We still needs peer review and more studies but we know a team of researchers in England discovered that an affordable, widely available steroid has shown promise in improving survival outcomes in COVID-19 patients.
Dexamethasone, a common steroid used to treat inflammation, was found to cut deaths by up to one-third in a study of more than 6,000 severely ill patients. More than 2,100 received the drug.
