A Pound Ridge Department of Public Works truck slid off the road, hit a power pole and knocked down wires Thursday in Katonah.

Officials say the incident took place near 289 Pond Road. The driver was taken out of the truck safely, but the road was closed for several hours after the incident.

Some residents lost power, and others were unable to get home.

Officials say the entire power pole had to be replaced.
