The harsh winter has left potholes along Yonkers streets.
DPW crews in Yonkers say they are laying down asphalt to attack the potholes on the city's 955 miles of road.
Work began Monday, and workers say they have so far filled more than 1,000 potholes.
As with snow, crews repair main streets first before secondary roads and side streets.
Workers say that the patches put in place should hold for a few months until crews make permanent repairs or in some cases repave the whole road.
