Westchester County Executive George Latimer is calling for residents to properly dispose of rubber gloves, which have been found littered around the region.
Residents have increased their use of gloves to help people protect themselves from the coronavirus. However, Latimer says use of the gloves has also caused increased littering in the community.
“Don’t be stupid. You put the rubber glove on your hand because you don’t want your hands to touch something that might have touched the virus in some fashion…why on Earth would you throw it on the ground?” Latimer asked.
He also says residents may face a fine if they are caught littering.
