Some businesses in Haverstraw are reinventing ways to serve the community and highlight Hispanic heritage month.
Quisqueya Sports Club is a cultural center that hosts many events throughout the year. Before the pandemic, the organization was known for hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the less fortunate and the Dominican Independence Day celebration that happens in February.
Since the pandemic, the organization has had to reimagine how it does things and now helps with events like food drives, fundraisers and handing out PPE to residents.
