Those who are heading to the DMV to get a driver license should get there sooner than later.

While lines of people no longer wrap around the outside of the Yonkers DMV, the wait inside can take hours.

The DMV has been working on accommodating the influx of customers at its offices since the Green Light Law passed in December.

It has hired 300 new employees throughout its offices and continues to look for new staff.

It is also encouraging customers to make reservations beforehand to cut down their wait times.

The Yonkers office is one of seven locations that is extending its hours, now offering appointments on Saturdays.

The Green Light Law allows undocumented immigrants to obtain driver licenses.  A total of 14 states now have it in effect.
