A teammate of the Pace University football player who was shot and killed by a Pleasantville police officer has reached a settlement with the former officer involved in the case.
Desmond Hinds, who was a passenger in Danroy “DJ” Henry’s car, will receive $75,000, according to the attorney for former Officer Aaron Hess. He was awarded $75,000 by a federal jury in White Plains last year.
Hess was struck by the car Henry was driving and then fired his gun though the windshield in 2010. Hess was never charged.
Henry's family accepted a $6 million settlement from Hess and the town of Mount Pleasant in 2016.
