Dirt hauler indicted in Eastchester athletic fields project
An indictment was handed up Wednesday for illegal dumping at Eastchester High School.
Anthony Adinolfi, owner of Dirtman Enterprises, promised to build sports fields across the county for free in exchange for using school grounds as dumpsites. The indictment states that Adinolfi never obtained the proper permits for work that his company performed at Eastchester High School between January and July of 2003. That is in violation of an environmental conservation law.
Adinolfi?s attorney says his client was never obligated to get the permits. Meantime, school officials say Adinolfi never finished the project as promised. The Eastchester School District does say the Department of Environmental Conservation approved all the material left by Adinolfi?s company. However, according to the Attorney General's office, Adinolfi was previously convicted of violating the same provision of the environmental conservation statute that he is currently charged with.
