In a matter of weeks, crews will start tearing down the old Nanuet Mall to make way for a brand new shopping experience.
Developers have been planning the new Shops at Nanuet for more than a year, and now it looks like they are ready to start construction.
The anchor stores, Macys and Sears, will stay, but the rest of the old mall will be torn down so developers can build a 350,000-square foot new mall with a whole new look and feel.
Developers say the new site will not be like a traditional indoor mall, but will have more of an "outdoor, Main Street" feel. In addition to dozens of stores, the mall will also have gourmet supermarket, a movie theater and a fitness center.
Officials hope The Shops at Nanuet will be up and running by the 2013 holiday season.
