Preparations are underway for Tuesday's grand reopening of Delite Bake Shop in Yonkers.
The beloved Yonkers Avenue bakery has been closed for months because of a fire that broke out in July.
Eric Jeraci, the general manager of the store, said the fire forced them to lose "a couple hundred thousand in sales" and undergo months of repairs and inspections.
Long-time customers said they cannot wait to get back to buying their favorite baked goods at the 80-plus-year-old business.
"It's an important store in the neighborhood, brings people to Yonkers Avenue, and they go to the other stores while they are here," one man said.
The store is scheduled to officially re-open at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is also scheduled for later on in the day.
