Defendant in Spring Valley machete stabbing case faces attempted murder charge

The man accused of stabbing another man with a machete in Spring Valley is being charged with attempted murder.  
Police say they first received a report of a man armed with a machete at Maple Deli on Maple Avenue Thursday.  
According to Spring Valley’s mayor, police found both the victim and the 57-year-old suspect bleeding when they arrived at the scene.  
The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, authorities say.
