DEC police officer rescues hawk caught in chicken coop in Brewster

Officer Crisafulli safely rescued the red-shouldered hawk, which did not appear to have sustained any injuries.

New York state Department of Environmental Conservation police officers rescued a hawk that was caught in a chicken coop in the village of Brewster.
The DEC says on July 26, an officer received a call about a hawk in distress at a residence.
The officer met with the homeowner and found the hawk stuck in a chicken coop, where it was being attacked by some of the chickens.
Officer Crisafulli safely rescued the red-shouldered hawk, which did not appear to have sustained any injuries. Crisafulli released the hawk, and it flew away.
