A deadly car accident closed Westchester Avenue at Webb Avenue temporarily in Harrison Friday morning.

Police say an SUV collided with a tractor-trailer on the westbound side of Westchester Avenue near Webb Avenue. Purchase fire officials say the person inside the SUV was dead when they arrived. Harrison police say another person was injured in the crash.

Traffic was diverted to Bowman Avenue while emergency responders try to clear the scene.
