DA: Yonkers teen charged with murder, attempted murder in 2 separate shootings

The defendant, who was 16 at the time, was charged with second-degree murder for his role in the shooting death of Omar Bonilla.

A 17-year-old Yonkers arrested was charged with murder and attempted murder in connection to two separate shootings in Yonkers, according to Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace.
The defendant, who was 16 at the time, was charged with second-degree murder for his role in the shooting death of Omar Bonilla. The homicide happened on Locust Hill Avenue at Lafayette Place in Yonkers on New Year's Day this year.
The suspect was also charged with second-degree attempted murder for a Yonkers shooting that happened on Dec. 14, 2024.
He also faces three separate counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to all charges.
