A Yonkers man has been indicted for allegedly hiring someone to burn down his house in 2021.
The Westchester District Attorney's Office claims the motive was to collect over $1.3 million from an insurance policy.
Majid Haddad, 59, faces charges including conspiracy, arson and reckless endangerment. Authorities say Haddad drove the man he hired to a Lowe's store to purchase gasoline canisters and then to a gas station, just days before the fire.
Haddad's bail was set, and he is scheduled to return to county court next month.
