The Sullivan County District Attorney's Office says the grandmother of a toddler who died at a Liberty hotel is being charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say 16-month-old Akaasha Luvert got hold of fentanyl and died.
Her parents, Lisa Keitt and Jimmie Luvery, are accused of smoking fentanyl in front of their two children and passing out inside their motel room earlier this month at the Knights Inn. The child's 3-month-old brother survived.
Charges for Keitt and Luvert have been upgraded to second-degree manslaughter. The person accused of selling the fentanyl also faces charges.
