A custodian saved a choking student whose lips were turning blue as he stopped breathing at a Mohegan Lake school.
It happened at George Washington Elementary School in the Lakeland Central School District.
Angelo Alessandro rushed to the rescue the choking third grader.
He pulled food out of the boy's mouth and performed an abdominal thrust to dislodge more food, allowing a return to normal breathing.
Alessandro says he just did what anyone would do that day, but that it feels good to know he helped save a child's life.
