Students in the Hendrick Hudson School District are learning about STEM through a new turtle habitat.
It's located at the Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School.
The school's longtime custodian built and designed the structure as a passion project, combining his love of reptiles and woodwork.
He built it in his spare time and with his own money to inspire kids to be creative and think outside the box.
One little turtle named Kevin belongs to the STEM teacher on campus.
