It is the first time New York has hit that number since March.
New York hit a new milestone in its fight against the coronavirus as Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the number of hospitalizations is officially under 1,000.
Speaking on CNN, Cuomo said that, as of today, there are 996 COVID-related hospitalizations. It is the first time New York has hit that number since March. "We have the virus under control finally. We had to flatten the curve. We don't want to go back."
In a tweet, Gov. Cuomo wrote, in part, "Together we bent the curve. And we aren’t stopping now. Wear a mask. Keep 6 feet apart. Wash hands. Stay smart."
