A house painter from Croton was arrested Tuesday and accused of molesting two teenage girls.
Christopher Digirolamo, 43, is facing rape and other charges for allegedly having sex with the girls, who are friends with his son. Police say it may have happened on more than one occasion.
"It just involves a couple of teenage girls, a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old?the matter is still under investigation,? said Sgt. John Nikitopoulos of the Croton Police Department.
The crimes allegedly took place at Digirolamo's house on Grand Street, where he reportedly lives with his 15-year-old son.
A woman who answered the door at the residence, and who would only identify herself as "Phyllis," said the charges are false.
"Because he's not the type,? she said. ?He's a father, and he's never bothered [anybody]. He's very quiet here, so I don't know."
Digirolamo?s neighbor, Kevin Scott, said he was disturbed by the allegations.
"I think that's terrible,? Scott said. ?I didn't know [there were] people like that around here. If it?s true, the guy's a real dirt bag."
The names of the two girls have not been released. Police are investigating to see if there are additional victims involved.
Digirolamo is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in Village Court Wednesday morning.
