The latest report from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services reveals a notable decline in crime rates from 2017 to the past year in Westchester County.
Overall, the data indicates a decrease of 5.2% in reported crimes.
Some of the most significant drops include a 15.7% decrease in violent crimes, a 27.4% decrease in robberies, nearly a 29% decrease in reported rapes, and a substantial 47.3% decrease in homicides.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer credited this decline to the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies and community partners.
