One person is dead after a car crash in Yonkers Wednesday morning.

Police say the two-vehicle accident occurred around 10 a.m. at on Sprain Road. They say a Toyota Corolla collided with a Cadillac in the heavy rain. There was only one person in each vehicle.

A man in his 30s or 40s driving the Toyota was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Cadillac was taken to St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers by Empress Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
