COVID-19 vaccinations are officially underway at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
It's one of three state-run vaccine sites opening Wednesday.
A total of 15 more will be opening in the days to come.
State officials say people must make an appointment through the New York state Health Department website or over the phone via their hotline.
This has caused headaches for some. News 12 is hearing from many who say they spent hours trying to get through, only to get kicked offline or get disconnected.
State officials also warn that some people won't be able to get their first shot as soon as they'd like.
With 7 million New Yorkers now eligible to be vaccinated but only 300,000 doses of vaccine coming to New York each week, there will inevitably be a supply shortfall.
They estimate some appointments may be as far out as 14 weeks.
The first day at the Westchester County Center seemed to go off without a hitch, and there was a steady, fast-moving line Wednesday morning. People told News 12 it was very simple.
The Westchester County Center will be open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
News 12 was told the Pfizer vaccine is what is currently being administered here.
