Vaccination efforts are underway in Suffern where an ICU physician received the county's first dose.
Good Samaritan Hospital ICU physician Dr. Jonathan Berg made history Tuesday as the first person to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Rockland County.
Good Samaritan Hospital is part of the Westchester Medical Center Network and is the first location in Rockland to get the vaccine.
Other WCMC locations in Westchester and Orange County also began vaccinating high-risk staff Tuesday, who work directly with COVID-19 patients - including doctors, nurses, support staff and respiratory therapists.
Good Samaritan Hospital won't say exactly how many doses of the first vaccines it has received but said its initial vaccination efforts will likely last through next week.
A spokesperson for Rockland County says they're not involved in the distribution plan so far, but that they're prepared to assist in any way.
