Two crucial seats are up for grabs in Dutchess County:
County Executive: The seat has been vacant since Marc Molinaro was elected to Congress. The candidates vying for the seat are former state senator and Republican Sue Serino, and Democrat Tommy Zurhellen, a Marist College professor and veterans advocate. The position will entail a four-year term.
District Attorney: William Grady is not seeking reelection, leaving the position open for the first time in 40 years. Matthew Weishaupt is the Republican candidate, while Anthony Parisi is the Democratic candidate. Both candidates have experience in the District Attorney's office, with Weishaupt currently serving as Chief Assistant D.A. and Parisi as Major Crimes Bureau Chief.
