A Cortlandt native whose dream was to play Major League Baseball is living the life he has always wanted.
Joe Panik, 24, loved the game of baseball and hoped to someday make it big, and he's done just that. In just four months, Panik went from a rookie trying to win a spot at 2nd base with the San Francisco Giants to a postseason star.
Panik says growing up watching Derek Jeter really inspired him and gave him hope to one day play in the World Series.
His defining moment came in Game 7 of the World Series when he started a double-play that will go down among the best in World Series history. Panik says that moment made him feel like a rock star.
