A father-son duo is turning to their community for help as they are in need of two kidneys.
James Cancro Sr. and his 20-year-old son, James Cancro Jr., both suffer from a genetic kidney disease called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis or FSGS.
James Sr. was forced to retire from the Fairview Fire Department, and James Jr. is unsure if he’ll be able to complete this semester of college.
The family’s son is blood type A negative, but his father has a more rare blood type of O negative.
The Cancro family would like to thank their support system, the Greenburch Fire Department, Tom Thumb Preschool and the Dialysis Clinic, Inc.
For anyone who is looking to help the family, contact Westchester Medical Center Transplant Coordinator Angela Templeton at 914-493-1990.
