Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall is set to receive a new urgent care facility after its emergency room closes.
The hospital received nearly $12 million in state awards from the Department of Health.
Hospital officials say the new facility will have a radiology center and lab.
According to a press release, over the past 18 months, “MSLC’s Cornwall campus has undergone significant transformation, from what was once an inpatient hospital, to what is now a thriving outpatient center including radiation oncology, rehabilitative services, outpatient dialysis, wound care, sleep medicine and pain management.”
Sen. James Skoufis highlighted the commitment Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall made to address the necessities of patients they serve.
“I am proud to see the continued growth of Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall, as they work to further expand their programs and services. The addition of Open Access Primary Care, expansion of specialty practices and overall enhancements to this campus will provide our community members with increased access to care when they need it most, right in their backyard. This is transformation at its finest,” shared Sen. Skoufis.
News 12 is told renovations are expected to be completed by 2022.
