A small-town Hudson Valley post office is getting back on track this week after more than half of its carriers were sick with COVID-19.
The Town of Cornwall Post Office had four out of six carriers out sick earlier this month, according to Postal Service officials.
That left two workers doing double shifts to cover the entire town.
Some residents there reported going a week without mail.
A USPS representative says the Postal Service is short workers and hiring throughout New York state, and added that they are thankful for the flexibility both customers and their workforce has shown throughout the pandemic.
