Residents can cool off for a good cause as Yonkers is hosting another ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Mayor Mike Spano invited residents to the 2019 Ice Bucket Challenge on August 3 at the Empire City Casino.

The event is co-founded by Yonkers native Pat Quinn, who has been living with ALS since 2013.

"Once again we need your help the Ice Bucket Challenge continues to inspire ALS patients across the world,” said Quinn.  “We live by the words, ‘Every August until a cure’."

Over the past five years, the Ice Bucket Challenge has raised hundreds of millions of dollars to fight the debilitating disease.
