The Hudson Valley community came together to hold a memorial concert for a serviceman killed in Afghanistan on Thursday.
The sound of bagpipes kicked off the event last night at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester to remember Technical Sgt. Joseph Lemm.
The NYPD detective from West Harrison, nicknamed "Superman," was killed by a suicide bomb in Afghanistan last December.
Family friend, Carmela Fuca, says Lemm is remembered for many things including his positive attitude. "Joe did a lot for everybody. He supported everybody. Always a smile on his face during all his tours. We were hoping [for] him to come home," says Fuca.
The concert featured the New York Tenors, Clyde McPhatter's Drifters, Joe Piscopo and JAX. Concert organizers say all the money raised last night will go directly to the Lemm family.
