A GoFundMe has been established for a Bridgeport man who suffered burns to 80% of his body when he was just 3 years old.

Luis Vaesta, 73, came to the U.S. from Chile over 50 years ago. He says he's always worked and paid taxes until he had to stop recently due to his failing health.

The fundraiser to help with medical bills until he can become a citizen and qualify for benefits.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal and local church leaders say citizenship is long overdue.
