Members of the Kingsbridge community are mourning the 8-year-old girl killed outside P.S. 307 Friday afternoon.
Rylee Ramos was killed after a car rammed into her and several others standing outside of P.S. 307 just minutes after school was let out.
Police say an unidentified female driver was driving the wrong way down a one-way street when she lost control on Eames Place, hitting a group of 10 people.
According to reports, the unidentified female driver tried to flee on foot. A nearby pedestrian restrained her until police arrived.
Ramos was taken to St. Barnabus Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The nine others struck were taken to area hospitals and remain in stable condition.
Loved ones gathered at a memorial outside the school to grieve the loss of such a young life.
