Comic Fest took over White Plains this weekend, offering young people a mix of fun and important life lessons at the City Center.
With dozens of vendors on hand, organizers say the festival was about more than just celebration.
"We also use this platform to reach out to youth on topics including bullying, substance abuse prevention, and mental health," said Helena Marescot of the White Plains Youth Bureau. "We're not like the ComicCon at Jacob Javits, but we do have vendors who come here year after year after year."
Counselors were also on site, providing information on social services.
