A Morris Park comic book shop is the inspiration for a new sitcom being written by its co-owner.
Grizz Chapman, who appeared on the show "30 Rock" as Tracy Morgan's bodyguard, is the co-owner of The Lair. He says he started writing the script about a year ago, inspired by the different customers he has seen in the shop. He says he wants to do something like "The Big Bang Theory," but show another side of the comic book industry.
The Lair opened back in 2005, and Chapman became part owner later on. Jorge Rodriguez, who owns The Lair, says he is honored his shop is being used as inspiration for the show.
Chapman says he has a cast together already and plans to start taping in late Feburary. If no network picks up the series, Chapman says he plans to air it online.
