Columbia University in NYC closes for 2 days after student exposed to coronavirus
Columbia University in New York City announced it will be closed Monday and Tuesday after a student was exposed to coronavirus.
The school says the suspension of classes will allow it to prepare to shift to remote classes for the remainder of the week.
The student has been quarantined. Columbia officials say the student has not been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Officials say non-classroom activities, including research, will still be held in accordance with new travel and event restrictions.
