375ds agoEstive Bustos Cevallos is being remembered as someone who came to Spring Valley from Ecuador and worked hard the moment he arrived.
The 2018 Spring Valley graduate died from a hit-and-run accident last weekend in Nanuet.
Andrew Delva coached the young man he called "Steve" for the two years he played high school football.
"He's probably the best field goal kicker I've ever had since I was coaching here," he said.
It included the electric moment when "Steve" made a game-winning field goal with no time left.
Coach Delva has started this GoFundMe to cover funeral costs and help the family financially now that the young bread winner's life was cut short.
"Every single cent that we receive is going to go towards Steve's wife and his two sons. I just want to make sure she doesn't go into that panic mode on top of all the stuff she's dealing with," he says.
