A Middletown man is under arrest this morning for allegedly cutting the brakes to his girlfriend's car.
Police arrested Clifton Tinnelly after his girlfriend found her brake lines severed.
The 18-year-old victim got in her car at the parking lot of Minisink Valley High School, where she is a student. She says she pulled out of the school parking lot and lost all brake control when she started driving home. She was able to use the emergency brake to safely stop the car and did not hit anything.
The woman already had a court-issued order of protection against Tinnelly.
Tinnelly was charged with criminal contempt, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. He's due back in court next week.
