Clarkstown hospice center serves up annual vets luncheon with drive-thru
United Hospice provided meals to 100 veterans drive-thru style due to coronavirus restrictions.
The Rockland County center served the meals with a side of praise from Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann and County Executive Ed Day.
Veterans like Cliff Fromm are grateful for the gesture, saying in part, “Hospice does a fantastic job. They usually have us over for a luncheon, but because of COVID they're doing this instead.”
Fromm added, “It’s a really great opportunity for us to get together and celebrate those who served our country.”
This year marks 20 years since the annual event began.
