The City Council held a special MTA snow preparedness hearing today after a massive blizzard last winter stranded commuters across the city.
Both the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the MTA say they've revamped policies and are vowing to provide the best possible service in the event of another big storm. Officials say they're prepared to clear more snow and ice than ever before.
The agency also said it will work on storm planning seven days a week and will utilize social media outlets, including Facebook, to inform riders of important service updates.
Transportation Committee Chair Jimmy Vacca (D-The Bronx) says commuters deserve better this time around.
