CDC warns of counterfeit Botox in 9 states, including New Jersey and New York

13h agoThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating bad Botox cases in several states, including New Jersey and New York.
The CDC says nearly 20 people had harmful reactions to the bad Botox. Nine people were hospitalized.
The agency is looking to track down the source of what they say is counterfeit Botox from Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee and Washington.
According to the CDC, injections were done in non-health care settings, such as homes and spas. People have reported experiencing blurry vision and double vision, drooping eyelids, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, slurred speech, difficulty breathing, fatigue and generalized weakness.
The CDC says whenever someone gets the Botox procedure, they should:
- Make sure to only get FDA approved injections.
- Always consult a doctor for the safest dose.
- When in doubt, don't get it.
