The Center for Disease Control is warning people to be on alert for scams regarding coronavirus.
They say emails claiming to be from the CDC have been circulating.
The email instructs recipients to open a documents on how to prevent the spread of the virus.
Once opened, a ransomeware will installed and encrypt both local and network files.
The CDC says people should never open unsolicited emails or click on any links from unknown senders.
