An abandoned house cat is safe after residents in one Yonkers building say the feline spent nearly two weeks on a fire escape.
The cat was allegedly abandoned on the top floor fire escape of 14 Coyle Ave. more than a week and a half ago.
News 12 called the Westchester SPCA, and Law Enforcement Director Ernest Lungaro arrived. A lower fire escape was blocked off as Marcos Segarra, of the Yonkers Animal Shelter, carefully rescued the cat.
The Yonkers Animal Shelter says the cat will be available for adoption sometime next week.
Anyone with information on the cat's original owner is urged to call the Westchester SPCA at 914-941-7797.
